Aims and Scope

The journal aims to publish research contributions in the form of Research Papers, Review Papers, Research Reports, Case Studies, Industry Initiatives, Forthcoming Events & Conference Proceedings and Book Reviews in the respective tourism, and allied disciplines. The journal is designed to encourage thorough discussion and critique of critical questions and deliberations across broader scope of the tourism and hospitality arena. To succeed in achieving a balance between theory and practices, this scholarly journal is committed to advancing theoretical and methodological knowledge, in addition to having specific implications for tourism academics and industry insights. The journal strives to offer a readable format for refereed and peer-reviewed cutting-edge research outputs on recent and emerging contemporary issues in tourism, and allied sectors, which may lead to encourage further discussions. The journal aims to encourage conceptual as well as applied research that attempts to focus on tourism investigations, processes, and practice. Keeping this in mind, the journal welcomes contributions from the diverse themes that literally constitute the tourism studies from the academicians, researchers, policy makers and industry practitioners from India and abroad.

Tourism Praxis is designed in a way to make it accessible to both new and experienced researchers and professional practitioners across the world.

The major objectives of the journal are as follows:

  1. To encourage debates and deliberations on critical approaches and current issues in tourism;
  2. To serve as an academic platform through which researchers having different disciplinary backgrounds may interact and hence broadening boundaries of knowledge in and contributing to the literature on tourism subjects from multidisciplinary perspective;
  3. To extend the theoretical base on which the tourism study is built;
  4. To facilitate the further development of research on novel approaches, practices, processes, and models in the field of tourism;
  5. To emerge as one of the leading scholarly journals on tourism management, including planning and policy, of travel and tourism.

The journal “Tourism Praxis” mainly focuses on the tourism, hospitality and allied disciplines. The research papers that will fall outside the scope of the journal may not be entertained. We encourage academicians, researchers, industry practitioners and policy makers, to submit quality papers with valuable and innovative contributions to the tourism and hospitality academia, research and industry.

Papers received within the scope of the journal and adhering to the journal guidelines will be sent to a minimum of two subject experts for the purpose of double blind peer review.

Tourism Praxis is one of the North-east India’s foremost academic platforms for the convergence of original, innovative and scientific research connected to various dimensions of tourism as well as to extend the knowledge boundary of tourism. The journal adopts an interdisciplinary stand in investigating global, national, and regional tourism as well as specific management concerns. The publications of high-quality papers in the journal will not only set it apart from other journals in the field but also will help it to earn considerable visibility and higher acceptance among scholars involved in tourism research. The need for this kind of journal has been felt for a long time. Undoubtedly it will strive towards enlightening scholars for days to come.
