About:
The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has established from 2007 and its academic programme started since August, 2008. Presently department is conducting 4 yrs. (8 Semester) Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), 2 years (4 Semester) Master of Technology (M. Tech) and Ph.D. (Engineering & Technology) programs with diverse specializations. At present the major thrust area of research are VLSI, Nanoelectronic Devices, RF & Microwave and Antenna Engineering. The primary focus would be to impart quality education to the students with required practical inputs and Industrial training under “University-Industry” interaction. At present there are seven regular Faculties in the department and recruitment of other faculty members will be taken up soon. There are nine laboratories in the department and many more laboratories will be set up soon. Presently total intake capacity of each batch in B. Tech is 30. Admission is done through JEE (Main) and MZUEEE (Mizoram University Engineering Entrance Examination) counseling, 50 % seats for JEE (Main) and 50 % seats for MZUEEE. Lateral Entry for 3year diploma holders will be allowed in the Second year (Third Semester) level, if seats are available through MZUEEE. Presently total intake capacity of M. Tech is 15 out of which 03 are reserved for sponsored category. Admission is done through GATE and/or MZUMTEE (Mizoram University Master of Technology Entrance Examination). Admission to Doctoral Programme in the department is done through Mizoram University Ph. D Entrance Examination followed by interview.
