Mizoram University Journal of Humanities & Social Sciences (MZUJHSS) is a bi-annual, open access, refereed journal bearing (ISSN(P): 2395-7352, ISSN(Online): 2581-6780). The journal is actively and professionally maintained at the official website of the university www.mzu.edu.in. It is an Open Access journal and allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full-texts of its articles and to use them for any other lawful purposes while quoting the name and bibliographic details of the journal.It allows for the preservation, access, and dissemination of published content and ensures the availability of past and current research articles for future reference, research, and scholarship. It maintains a secure repository of all published articles, through the journal’s website and it is regularly backed up to prevent data loss. The website consultant for the journal in collaboration with Information and Communication Technology Department of Mizoram University holds the primary responsibility for overseeing the archiving process. The archiving process is closely monitored to ensure that it aligns with best practices and the archived content will be accessible to the public through the journal’s website. Article processing charges amount to Rs. 1,500/- .After successful review and acceptance of the article may be paid prior to publication in the journal. The journal adheres to a transparent double-blind peer review process and submissions undergo editorial assessment for relevance, originality, and compliance with journal guidelines, and upon passing this evaluation the articles are sent to a minimum of two reviewers falling under the ambit of the area of expertise. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations which adhere to relevancy, linguistic prowess, clarity, suitability of data and detailed feedback and recommendations are made which pertains to regarding the following : i) Accepting without revisions ii) Accepting with minor revisions iii)Accepting with major revisions iv) Rejection. The editorial board undertakes the final publication decision and ensures that all reviews are conducted in a professional, fair, and unbiased manner.  All submissions will be subject to a rigorous review process. Submitted papers will be processed through a “Blind Peer Review System” by experts in the subject area. The identity of the reviewer is not revealed to the authors. The process is completed objectively and in strict adherence with the rules of the journal while the anonymity of the author is assured during the review process. Authors are expected to revise the manuscripts in accordance with the suggestions denoted by the reviewer within a stipulated time frame, failing which the article may be summarily rejected. The Editorial Board reserves the right to accept or reject a paper even after the review process. The mandate of the journal is to facilitate interdisciplinary research and knowledge sharing of disciplines that fall within the ambit of Humanities and Social Sciences. It is hoped that the journal will implement and garner credibility in terms of research works of stellar academic standard within the country and beyond. The journal welcomes original research papers, articles and book reviews. The journal has a 40% acceptance rate. The categories covered by the journal comprises, but are not limited to the following disciplines:

Manuscripts should be submitted in MS-Word format, comprising a minimum of 2500 and a maximum of 5000 words, to be accompanied by endnotes if any, and the actual works cited list in APA 7^th edition documentation format. Book review shall comprise a maximum of 2000 words only. Where applicable visuals pertaining to coherent visibility and of superior quality shall be maintained. The website undergoes coherent maintenance in a routine manner under the supervision of competent and able administration under the guidance of a website consultant and the Information and Computer Technology Department of the university, to provide a smooth, secure, and positive user experience.

• The main title of the paper should be full and should follow: Font name “Times New Roman”, font size “14 point”, and font style “Bold”.
• The main body of the paper should follow: Font name “Times New Roman, font size “12 point”, font style “Regular”, Align “Justify”, and line spacing “1.15 lines”. Articles in Hindi are to be submitted in Kokila font size “16 point”, adhering to the aforementioned parameters.
• The submitted paper comprising a minimum of 2500 words and a maximum of 5000 words is to be accompanied with an abstract of not more than 200 words along with 4 to 5 keywords.
• The article should clearly mention the name of author(s), designation and institutional affiliation along with postal address, pin code, mobile number, email and Orcid ID.
• Book reviews must denote full name of author/ editor, and book title, its place of publication, year, number of pages and price.
• The author should submit a signed declaration that “submitted article is an original research work and has not been published anywhere else/ or sent for publication anywhere.”
• Articles in languages other than English, viz Hindi and Mizo may pertain only within the ambit of literature and should be accompanied by a 300 word summary in English.
• Self citation scores should not exceed 15% of the total citations.
• Due acknowledgment must be given to all contributors, including funding sources and institutions.
• Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their work.
• Copyright of all articles published in MZUJHSS is vested with the journal.
• Licensing Policy: The journal follow Creative Commons Licensing under CC-BY-NC.
• Articles are to be submitted through e-mail to journal’s email at hssmzu@gmail.com. Articles for publication in the journal may be submitted throughout the year.
• Manuscripts must be free from copyright infringement, submitted by the corresponding author and in the event of joint articles it should have the consent of all the co-authors. The articles submitted should not be published either partially or completely in any form, in any other journal. Articles should not be submitted simultaneously to any other journal at the time of submission to the journal.
• Articles in the journal do not necessarily reflect the views / opinions of neither the publisher nor the university. No part of any article published in this journal may be reproduced in print or electronic form without the permission of the publisher.
• The journal has the full right to accept or reject a paper or manuscript for consideration of publication. The decision taken by the Editorial Board of the journal is final in all respects, and no further communication/ clarification/ solicitation from authors is expected and will not be entertained.
• In cases, where the journal facilitates provisioning of information on status of manuscripts, delays (if any) in the review/ refereeing or publication of manuscripts, the journal is not obliged to reply or communicate to the authors on these subject matters.

The journal is not liable for any loss or consequences that might occur owing to use of the information or subject-matter embodied in the journal. No author having published an article will be allowed to publish another paper in a consecutive issue. The paper must be in compliance with academic ethics and adhere to a similarity index of not more than 10%. Any conflict of interest must be disclosed by the authors and the article submitted must be in compliance with academic ethics and adhere to a maximum of 20% in terms of AI generated content.
