The 1 Mizo Air Squadron National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Mizoram University stands as a proud symbol of discipline, patriotism, and leadership development in the state of Mizoram, India. Established with the core objective of nurturing young and responsible leaders, the MZU NCC is dedicated to instilling the timeless values of courage, integrity, and selfless service among its cadets.
Committed to fostering a spirit of adventure, teamwork, and a deep sense of duty towards the nation, the MZU NCC offers comprehensive training programs that encompass both theoretical and practical aspects of aeronautics, leadership, and military discipline. Cadets are equipped with the skills and mindset required to face challenges confidently and contribute meaningfully to society.
The MZU NCC training curriculum includes physical fitness, drill practice, adventure activities, Awareness programme, Nation building, disaster preparedness, leadership camps, and specialized sessions on air force operations, enabling cadets to develop a well-rounded personality and strong moral character. Participation in various national-level camps and competitions further enhances their exposure and experience.
Over the years, the NCC at MZU has built a proud tradition of excellence, with many of its cadets going on to serve in the armed forces, Govt services and Corporates or become exemplary citizens committed to the nation’s progress. The NCC in MZU continues to be a beacon of inspiration for the youth of Mizoram and India, encouraging them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, patriotism, and leadership.
Regular Training: Cadets undergo rigorous physical training, drill sessions, and classroom instruction to develop discipline, endurance, and military knowledge.
Adventure and Outdoor Activities: Trekking, camping, obstacle courses, and rock climbing are integral parts of the training, promoting teamwork and resilience.
Leadership Camps: Regular leadership development programs help cadets hone decision-making skills, responsibility, and confidence.
Community Service: Cadets participate in social service activities such as blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and awareness campaigns, fostering a sense of social responsibility.
National-Level Camps & Competitions: Selected cadets represent the squadron at prestigious events like the Republic Day Camp (RDC), Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), and National Integration Camp (NIC), gaining valuable exposure.
Consistent representation of Mizoram University cadets at national-level camps and competitions.
Numerous cadets awarded the prestigious ‘C’ Certificate, a mark of proficiency and leadership excellence.
Alumni of the squadron who have successfully joined the Indian Armed Forces, NCC, Govt Jobs and Corporate etc. contributing to the nation’s defense.
Recognition from the NCC Directorate for outstanding discipline, performance, and community engagement.
Eligibility: Open to all enrolled students of Mizoram University who meet the physical fitness standards and academic requirements and below 26 years.
Application Process: Interested students can apply through the university’s NCC office or Contact the ANO, Fg Offr (Dr) C Rohmingtluanga during the designated enrollment periods.
Selection: Candidates undergo a screening process including physical fitness tests, interviews, and medical examinations.
Training Duration: NCC training is typically conducted over a period of three years, culminating in the award of certificates based on performance.
