About the Department :
  The Department of Information Technology, Mizoram University was established in the year 2007 and B.Tech (IT) course was started from August 2007 with 7 students admitted in the first semester. The department is running four (4) parallel semesters of B.Tech and 2 parallel semesters of M.Tech in a year. The primary focus is to impart quality education to the students with required practical inputs and industrial training under “University-Industry” interaction. In addition to classroom teaching, the department has mind-developing programmes for students such as maintaining good interaction with teachers and active participation in debates, quiz and seminars. Every year students are sent to reputed organizations for industrial training for skills enhancement and to widen their capacity. The Department of Information Technology introduced a two year Post Graduate Degree M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) with Department of Computer Engineering in 2018. The Department also offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Information Technology from 2021 which covers in-depth knowledge, insight, research work into the Computer Science field with a goal of producing quality researchers and high-impact research.
