Obtaining Your New University Email Account

This document outlines the process for receiving your new official Mizoram University email ID. Please read the instructions and the terms of use carefully.

Application Process

  1. Submit the Application: To request your new email account, you must complete the official application form. The link to the form is provided at the end of these instructions.

  2. Account Creation: Once your application has been processed, our technical team will create your new email account.

  3. Receive Your Credentials: Your new email ID and a temporary password will be sent to you.

  4. First Login: It is mandatory that you change your password immediately upon your first login. This is a critical security step to protect your account.

Step-by-Step Guide to Requesting Your Email Alias:

Follow these steps to ensure a smooth process.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

Only regular students or non-regular staffs of Mizoram University who already possess an official ID Card are eligible for this service.

Step 2: Submit the Official Request Form

  • To begin, you must fill out the official request form.

  • The link to the form is provided at the end of this instruction.

Step 3: Receive Your Acknowledgement

  • Immediately after submitting the form, an automated acknowledgement email will be sent to your correspondence email. 

  • This email will contain a unique Acknowledgement Number. Please save this number for your records.

Step 4: Track the Status of Your Request

  • You can monitor the progress of your request using the Acknowledgement Number.

  • A tracking portal is available at the bottom of this page.

Step 5: Final Confirmation and First Login

  • Once your new email has been created, you will receive a final confirmation email. This email will be sent to your correspondence email and will contain your new temporary password.


Important Terms & Conditions of Use

By using the university email service, you agree to abide by the following conditions. Violation of these rules may lead to the withdrawal of the email facility and other disciplinary or legal actions.

  • Primary Purpose: Your university email account must be used primarily for academic and official university-related purposes. Personal use should be limited.

  • Your Responsibility: You are solely and directly responsible for all content sent from your account and for any legal liabilities that may arise from its use.

  • Account Security:

    • Sharing your email ID and password is strictly prohibited.

    • Always log out of your account after each session to prevent unauthorized access.

    • Be cautious when opening email attachments. You are responsible for ensuring that your account does not introduce viruses or malware to the university network.

  • Prohibited Activities:

    • Sending emails containing obscene, illegal, or commercial content is a direct violation of university policy.

    • Sending bulk emails or spamming is forbidden.

    • Impersonating another user is a serious offense and is subject to legal action.

  • Account Validity: Your email account will remain active only as long as you are an employee or a student at Mizoram University. The account will be disabled once your association with the university ends.
