Aizawl, 29 August 2025: The Department of Computer Engineering, Mizoram University, in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, successfully organized the 18th One-Week Bootcamp on “Drone Technology and Related Applications” from 25th to 29th August 2025. The programme was funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and held at the Civil Auditorium, School of Engineering and Technology, Mizoram University.
The Bootcamp served as a vibrant platform for experts, researchers, and participants from diverse disciplines to explore the transformative potential of drone technology. Sessions combined technical lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on training, offering participants both conceptual grounding and practical exposure to real-world drone applications.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. P. V. Naganjaneyulu, Dean-in-charge, School of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. V. D. Ambeth Kumar, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, who welcomed participants and highlighted the growing importance of drone technologies in advancing innovation and industry applications. Prof. Ajoy Kumar Khan presented an overview of the Bootcamp, setting the stage for the week-long deliberations.
Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in interactive sessions, technical training, and collaborative discussions, gaining valuable insights into the future trajectory of drone technologies. The closing ceremony featured reflections from both participants and resource persons, followed by the distribution of certificates by Mr. Meet Chauhan and Mr. V. Gourisankar from Jet Aerospace Aviation Research Center, alongside Dr. V. D. Ambeth Kumar (Convenor) and Dr. Mayanglambam Sushilata Devi (Coordinator).
The event was widely regarded as a resounding success, fostering academic collaboration, skill enhancement, and innovation in drone technology. Mizoram University expressed its deep gratitude to MeitY, NIT Silchar, the resource persons, and participants for their invaluable contributions to making the Bootcamp a memorable and impactful experience.
