Main functions of the Cell/ Centre:
To work towards creating an atmosphere for promoting equality, non-discrimination and gender sensitivity.
To promote and facilitate measures to create a work environment that is free of sexual harassment.
To receive and take cognizance of complaints made about sexual harassment at the university and give every complaint serious consideration
To conduct enquiries into the complaints, place findings and recommendations regarding penalties against the harasser.
Vision of the Cell/ Centre
We envision a safe environment and protection against sexual harassment of women at MZU and for redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and to ensure
gender equality in MZU.
Mission of the Cell/ Centre
To provide safe workplace for women
To create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment.
To promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms
To curb the possibility of any kind of sexual harassment and abuse.
Objective of the Cell/ Centre
To create awareness among the University Fraternity about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act , 2013
To ensure the implementation of the policy through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures
To create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment.
Function of the Cell/ Centre
Contributing to awareness of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013
Reaching out to all stakeholders for prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment in MZU
To take up any sexual harassment case as per direction of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2013
Contribution of the Cell/Centre
Conducting awareness Workshops, Setting up Signboards in prime locations and different schools of study, Hostels, etc. Conducting inquiry, summoning, enforcing
attendance, examining the case, and disposal of the case
Contribution of the Cell/Centre in academic related aspects of the University:
The Cell distributed academic knowledge about The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 to the UG, PG, Research scholars, teaching staffs, non teaching staffs and other workers residing in the campus to spread awareness to have a campus free from sexual harassment.
