About the Department :
The Department of Political Science was established in 2002 and has seven faculties and two non-teaching staff. It has grown into a full-fledged Department. The Department has three Professors, one Associate Professors and two Assistant Professors. The Department has produced 32 Ph.D. and 22 MPhil till 31st May 2024. The Students and Research Scholars of the Department are constantly engaged in Study and Research on various dimensions of advanced Political Science.

Students Achievements:
1. Mr. R. Lalrochhara a student of II-Semester got second position in the ‘Open Innovative Idea Competition’ on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024 organised by Mizoram EIACP Hub, Mizoram Pollution Control Board and Eco Club of Mizoram University on 5th June 2024.
2. PhD Scholars and one PG Student of the Department attended the Summit of Asia Pacific Youth Exchange – APYE Summit during 18 – 27 August 2019 in South Korea
3. Two students of II-Semester (H Lalramchuani and Jyotirmay Bharali) have achieved 3rd rank in MZU Virthli 2024 Quiz and
4. Mr. Beirapatha Khaila a student of II-semester won the Best Debater of MZU Virthli-2024.
5. Mr. C Lalnundika a student of IV-semester got the first place in the debate in Virthli-2023.
6. Students of II and IV- Semesters got the third position in the Dance competition of Virthli 2023.
7. Students of III-semester (Lalramtleipuia, Lallianpuia, Miriam Vanlalpeki and Zoramthari) got the first position in Alcheringa 2023 organised by IIT-Guahati.
8. Students of IV-semester got the prize of 2nd Runway Showdown in Virthli-2023
