About the Department :
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2011 under the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the academic program is being implemented from August 2012. Currently, the Department offers 4 years Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering, 2 years Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Power and Energy Systems Engineering and Ph.D. in different fields of Electrical Engineering like Power Electronics & Drives, Power and Energy Systems, Renewable Energy Resources, Image Processing, AC and DC Microgrid Systems, Soft Computing and its Applications etc. The department has qualified and experienced faculty in all the related fields of Electrical Engineering viz. Power System, Power Electronics, Energy System, Electrical Machines, Control & Instrumentation and Microprocessor, Digital Electronics etc. The primary focus of the department is to impart quality education with practical knowledge and ethic. For imparting practical knowledge to students, the department has nine (9) well-equipped laboratories namely (i) Electrical Machines Lab (ii) Power Electronics Lab (iii) Computer Simulation Lab (iv) Measurement & Instrumentation Lab (v) Digital Electronics Lab (vi) Control Systems Lab (vii) Microprocessor Lab (viii) Basic Electrical Engineering Lab and (ix) Power System Lab. The department is handling various R&D projects with the financial assistance from MeitY, CPRI etc., including international collaborative research projects. The department is also actively engaged in research in the emerging areas of Electrical Engineering. The students also have the opportunities to gain industrial exposure through industrial training programme. The department has successfully placed students in renowned public sector companies like Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. The curriculum is revised continuously with the active involvement of industry, alumni, research organizations, and other stakeholders.
