The Geographic is a journal published by the Department of Geography & Resource Management, Mizoram University. It is the official journal of the Geography Association of Mizoram (GAM). It has been published annually since 2006.
Geographic welcomes contributors from scholars of various branches of geography and allied disciplines. Papers sent for publication in the journal must be original articles that have not been submitted, published, or accepted for publication elsewhere.

Manuscript: Author(s) should submit a soft copy of his/her manuscript and abstract to the email: geographic.gam@gmail.com. The manuscript should be submitted in document (docx.) format. The papers should be numbered consecutively. The manuscript should have the following elements in the following order: title page, abstract, keywords, main text, and references. The main text of the manuscript may be further divided into appropriately headed sections and sub-sections. The length of the paper should not exceed 4,000 words excluding abstract, tables, figures, and references. Use a normal, plain font (12-point Times Roman) and double spacing for text. Cite references in the text by name and year in parentheses. For example (Abbott, 1991; Barakat et al., 1995; Kelso & Smith, 2021).
Title Page: The title page should contain the full title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliations (institutions), and the email address of the corresponding author. If available, the 16-digit ORCID of the author(s) should also be included.
Abstract: The paper should contain an abstract of 100 – 200 words which should be kept at the beginning of the paper. Do not include any reference in the abstract.
Keywords: Provide 4-6 keywords/key phrases for indexing purpose.
Figures and Tables: Tables, figures, and captions should be embedded in the main text for peer review, approximately where they would appear in the published article. Each table/figure should be numbered, in order in which they are referred to in the text. Every figure and table should have a concise caption below the figure/table describing accurately what the figure depicts or explaining the components of the table. Provide high quality images for the figures.
Equations: Ensure that mathematical equations are editable in your Word document.
Units: Use SI units (non-italicized).
Funding details: Please supply all details required by your funding and grant-awarding bodies as follows:
For single agency grants

The paper must adhere to strict academic ethics and be free of plagiarism. The authors are expected to follow the ethical values for writing and submission of research article to the journal. The journal uses “Turnitin” software to detect plagiarism.
Peer Review Process
The articles, papers etc. submitted to the journal will be subject to rigorous review process. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will be processed through a “Blind Peer-review System” by an independent, anonymous expert in the subject area.
The Editorial Board has the whole right to accept or reject the papers for publication as per the recommendation of the referees.
Geographic journal adheres to the publication ethics for editors, authors and reviewers as defined by COPE – Committee on Publication Ethics, in their Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2011) and Elseviers’ Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK) as a baseline for handling publishing ethics issues.
