Six from Mizoram University Featured Among World’s Top 2% Scientists in Stanford University Global Rankings

Mizoram University proudly announces that five faculty members and one research scholar have been featured among the world’s top 2% scientists, as recognized in Stanford University’s prestigious 2024 global rankings.

The distinguished honorees from Mizoram University are:

    • Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rai, Department of Environmental Science

    • Dr. V. D. Ambeth Kumar, Department of Computer Engineering

    • Dr. Joydeep Das, Department of Chemistry

    • Dr. Uttam Kumar Sahoo, Department of Forestry

    • Dr. Sushanto Gouda, postdoctoral researcher, Department of Zoology

In addition, Dr. Dibya Prakash Rai from Pachhunga University College—a constituent college of Mizoram University—has also been recognized. (He is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Phyics, Mizoram University.)

Stanford University released its 2024 rankings of the world’s top scientists on September 17, 2024, spanning 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. The selection is based on standardized citation metrics, highlighting global excellence in research. This year, India saw 5,352 scientists included in the list, a notable rise from 4,635 in 2023.
