Mizoram University (MZU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 16, 2025 with Centre for Social Studies (CSS), Surat. The CSS is an autonomous social science research institute based in Gujarat. Founded by late Professor I.P. Desai in 1969, the CSS receives financial support from the ICSSR and the Government of Gujarat. The MoU is aimed at mutual cooperation and collaboration in doctoral programmes, research projects, internship and training for research scholars.
The MoU was signed in the chamber of the Vice Chancellor of Mizoram University, Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dolly Sunny, Director of CSS and Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar of MZU. Prof. G. P. Prasain, Vice Chancellor of Tripura University graced the occasion.
