Aizawl, 16 September 2025: The Mizoram University Students’ Council (MZUSC) convened its 1st Council Body Meeting for the academic term 2025–2026 on 16th September 2025 at 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall, Department of Education, Mizoram University. The meeting marked the formal commencement of the Students’ Council’s collective functioning for the new academic session.
Chaired by the Office Bearers of the MZUSC, the meeting witnessed active participation from Class Representatives and Assistant Class Representatives across departments, representatives from the Halls of Residence, delegates of various clubs and forums, as well as representatives of the research scholars’ community.
Key discussions included the approval of the working calendar for the academic year, which will provide a guiding framework for upcoming Students’ Council activities. The body also deliberated on academic and non-academic issues raised by students, covering welfare, engagement, and academic support. Emphasis was placed on participatory decision-making, transparency, and inclusivity as vital principles in strengthening the student community.
The Council reiterated its commitment to addressing student concerns while also creating opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and holistic development. The meeting reaffirmed the Council’s role as a structured platform for dialogue and as an important bridge between the student fraternity and the University administration.
