Aizawl, 5 December 2025: Mizoram University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chin Affairs on 5th December 2025, marking a significant step towards enhancing academic, linguistic, and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The MoU outlines key areas of cooperation, including the introduction of a Diploma Course in Spoken Burmese, facilitation of admissions for students from Myanmar to Mizoram University, and the promotion of joint research initiatives. The collaboration is aimed at fostering cross-border academic engagement and strengthening cultural and educational ties in the region.
The agreement was formally signed by Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Mizoram University, and Pi Mai Lucy Mawi, Deputy Executive Director of the Institute of Chin Affairs. Dr. B. Lalzarliana, Coordinator of the Burmese Language Course, Mizoram University, and Salai Za Lian Pum, Humanitarian Coordinator, Institute of Chin Affairs, represented their respective institutions during the signing ceremony.
The MoU reflects Mizoram University’s continued commitment to international cooperation, regional engagement, and the promotion of linguistic and cultural understanding through structured academic programmes and collaborative research.
