Mizoram University Hosts Two-Day International Seminar on “Nation First: A Vision for Tomorrow”

The Department of Education, Mizoram University, successfully organized a two-day International Seminar titled “Nation First: A Vision for Tomorrow” on 7th and 8th August 2025 at the Seminar Hall, School of Education. The event brought together scholars, educators, and thought leaders to engage in meaningful discussions on national development and future priorities.

The inaugural programme opened with a warm Welcome Address by Prof. Lynda Zohmingliani, Department of Education, followed by an insightful introduction to the seminar’s objectives by Prof. Lokanath Mishra. Esteemed guests, Prof. Pravakar Rath, Pro Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University, and Prof. S. Sundar, Director of NIT, delivered brief yet impactful remarks. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Chief Guest Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Pooja Walia, acknowledging the contributions of dignitaries, organizers, and participants.

Technical sessions commenced in the afternoon, featuring both online and offline research presentations. The online session was chaired by Dr. Muttu Vemula, while the offline session was led by Dr. Tejeswara Rao. Scholars from various institutions presented diverse perspectives, fostering rich academic dialogue. The second day continued with the next technical session chaired by Dr. N. Jayapriya.

The seminar concluded with a Valedictory Function presided over by Prof. Lalbiakdiki Hnamte, Head of the Department of Education. Chief Guest Prof. (Retd.) Lalhmasai Chuaungo delivered a heartfelt address on the pivotal role of education in fostering strong national values. Certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their contributions. Dr. Rajesh Kumar delivered the final Vote of Thanks, expressing deep appreciation to all who made the event a success.
