The Department of Commerce, set up in July 2002, imparts contemporary quality education in Commerce to young persons, develop their competence, undertake applied research in the discipline and spread the benefit of knowledge of Commerce in the society.We cultivate a sense of service, professionalism, ethics, and dedication in our students. The department has been offering M.Com., M. Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. The Department has recently started B.Voc (Handloom Weaver) programme.

Mission

To promote excellence in teaching, learning and research in business education. Our goal is to produce commerce graduates with both a strong base of technical knowledge and the complementary skills needed to be successful professional in the contemporary business world.

B. Weaknesses:

  1. Insufficient exposure of students to other places.
  2. Insufficient of networking with other universities
  3. Not having full-fledged Dept. Library.
  4. Inadequate space and less number of systems in Computer Laboratory.

C. Opportunities:

  1. Manpower demand in services sector.
  2. Development of hands-on business skill through start-up ecosystem within the campus.
  3. Foreign trade opportunities with neighboring nations.
  4. Popularization of commerce education.
  5. Extension and collaboration with the State Govt. and industries.
